Tutorial & Example
What is a problem statement?
A problem statement describes a problem scenario in a very specific way. It often includes:
Who has the problem
What is causing the problem
What impact this has on the person/people/place who are experiencing the problem
Anyone should be able to read your problem statement and immediately be able to empathise with the person/people who are experiencing the problem.
What is a Change Statement?
A change statement describes what behaviour / condition needs to change in-order for the experience of the person/place impacted by the problem to improve. It could also describe what the experience / situation (the outcome) looks like once the problem is solved.
The statement should be forward looking and describe what needs to “change” in-order to achieve this outcome.
